What Lawyers, Regulators and Municipal Officials Need to Know About the Evolving Regulatory, Technical and Legal Landscape
Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), known as “forever chemicals” have been widely used in a variety of industrial and consumer applications due to their resistance to heat, water, and oil. Increased federal and state regulatory attention on certain types of PFAS as well as public scrutiny has transformed the PFAS discussion.
In light of growing liability concerns and continued uncertainty, this panel will discuss new remediation technologies, recent federal legislation, state regulatory action, and potential impacts on the private sector. This session goes beyond PFAS 101 and offers an in-depth look at state and federal actions that have been recently implemented, timing and significance of future regulation, the status and limits of current toxicology data, and implications for environmental diligence.
