The summer wouldn’t be complete without this popular summer institute! This program provides an in-depth look at estate planning and features advanced analysis of the most pressing topics and updates in 2024 estate planning presented by an extraordinary panel of seasoned faculty. You will come away with a deeper understanding of the law and procedure, essential drafting techniques and information that will elevate your practice immediately.
This year, we have decided to split the Estate Planning Summer Institute into two separate sessions. This first session will focus primarily on estate planning considerations in a host of tax and non-tax scenarios, providing a broad overview of the considerations that are relevant to any lawyer who is practicing in the estate planning field. The second session, on September 26, will be the Estate Planning and Estate Administration Institute – Part 2 and will focus on the issues that arise after death in the administration of estates, including steps that can be taken to deal with tax challenges or disputes, agreements among beneficiaries and potential litigation or disputed matters.
Topics include:
- Ethics issues lawyers confront in estate planning (and administration) matters - Laura N. Wilensky, Esq.
- Planning for federal tax issues (including related income tax considerations) given high exemptions and the prospect of changes in the federal tax structure at the end of 2025 (or earlier) - Frederick K. Schoenbrodt, II, Esq.
- Planning for the NJ Inheritance Tax - Jill Lebowitz, Esq.
- Planning Considerations for retirement assets under the SECURE Acts (a second part on administering such assets will be featured in the estate administration session) - Tara S. Sinha, Esq.
- Planning for Business owners - Gary A. Prince, Jr., Esq.
- Charitable Planning considerations - Anita J. Siegel, Esq.
- Premarital Planning and Planning for Divorcing Couples - Adam M. Grenker, Esq.
