Capitol Report: For-profit Debt Adjuster Bill Moves Out of Committee

This week’s Capitol Report covers the NJSBA’s opposition to a bill that would permit for-profit debt adjuster companies to operate in New Jersey. In testimony before the state Senate Commerce Committee this week, NJSBA Consumer Protection Law Committee Chair Yongmoon Kim warned of the predatory tactics for-profit debt adjusters use to target consumers with fees and penalties.
