NEW BRUNSWICK – Essex County attorney G. Glennon Troublefield was sworn in as First Vice President of the New Jersey State Bar Association, the state’s largest professional organization of judges, lawyers and legal professionals. He was installed during the NJSBA 2025 Annual Meeting and Convention.
He is on track to become president of the Association in 2027.
Troublefield, a partner at Carella, Byrne, Cecchi, Olstein, Brody & Agnello, P.C. in Roseland, brings a wealth of diverse legal experiences and leadership in several bar associations within and outside of New Jersey. His practice includes representing clients in complex commercial litigation, appellate matters, insurance coverage litigation, bankruptcy, and intellectual property matters. He is a registered patent attorney and advises clients in a variety of intellectual property matters, including IP licensing, protection of a client’s invention, copyrights and trademarks, as well as counseling clients to support transactions involving their intellectual property.

It is a privilege to work with my fellow NJSBA Officers and Trustees, as well as other members and Staff of the NJSBA, to serve the state’s legal profession and its many capable professionals,” Troublefield said.
Troublefield’s participation in the organized bar is extensive. He served as a member of the NJSBA Board of Trustees on behalf of the Essex County Bar Association and co-chaired the NJSBA’s Commission on Racial Equity in the Law with Carolyn Change. He is a Past President of the Essex County Bar Association, presently serves as one of the NJSBA’s delegates to the American Bar Association (ABA) House of Delegates. As to his ABA involvement, he is presently serving as the Third Circuit Representative of the ABA’s Standing Committee on the Federal Judiciary and is a past Chair of the ABA’s Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section.
Troublefield’s bar association experience has other roots in New Jersey. He is a member of the Lawyers’ Advisory Committee of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, a member of the Third Circuit Lawyers’ Advisory Committee of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and is a member of the Association of the Federal Bar of New Jersey. Complementing other experiences, Troublefield is a member of the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel, serves on several NJSBA committees, and is past Statewide Chair of the New Jersey Supreme Court’s Committee on Character. He has served on the Committee on Character for several years, which followed his service to the bar as a member of the Essex County District Ethics Committee. He is also a member of the National Bar Association and, on numerous occasions, has served as a faculty member for several NJSBA continuing education programs directed to ethics and professionalism.
Troublefield grew up in Maplewood, New Jersey. He is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and Seton Hall University School of Law. He presently resides in Cedar Grove.
