Labor Associate

Job Description:

Labor Associate with 1-3 years of experience to start on or about September or October 2026. The firm serves the needs of a diverse range of union and benefit fund clients across many industries, including entertainment, sports, transportation, postal delivery, building trades, communications, healthcare, industrial manufacturing, maritime, and laundry and food service distribution. We litigate on behalf of our union clients in federal and state court, represent unions in administrative proceedings before federal, state and city agencies and in grievance arbitrations, assist with collective bargaining, and provide strategic advice on organizing, internal union governance, and many other matters.

Our labor law practice is 19 lawyers strong and, together with our 11 employee benefits lawyers, our firm is committed to advancing the rights of working people and organizing for racial and economic justice. We have a collaborative, open-door culture and offer a mentorship program to foster professional growth and build authentic community.

Applicants should have demonstrable commitment to the labor movement and strong critical thinking, research, and writing skills, and should be comfortable thinking on their feet, interacting with clients, and exercising independent judgment. Applicants should be prepared to assume substantial responsibility for cases from the start. While the firm has a flexible policy regarding remote work, with attorneys coming to the office a minimum of two days a week, applicants must live in or near the New York metropolitan area.
