NJSBA Recommends Improvements to the Expungement Process

The state’s system to expunge criminal records, expanded in recent years as part of cannabis reform, is plagued with delays that negatively affect those who rely on the new law to seek employment, housing and other opportunities, the NJSBA said in a letter to the Judiciary. the full letter for the NJSBA’s recommendations to ease backlog in the expungement system.
