NJSBA Seeks Review of ACPE Opinion on Attorney Referral Fees

The NJSBA asked the state Supreme Court to reverse a recent opinion by the Advisory Committee on Professional Ethics that blocked referral fees for out-of-state attorneys. The opinion creates hardship for attorneys with pre-existing referral fee agreements and clients who would otherwise seek qualified legal counsel out of state, according to the NJSBA’s petition.
