NJSBA supports proposed Criminal Rule changes on first appearances and out-of-court identification procedure

NEW BRUNSWICK – The New Jersey State Bar Association told the Court it backed proposed changes to two criminal practice rules. 
   
One has to do with first appearances and is related to the ongoing bail reform measures. Read the NJSBA's Comments on Proposed Amendments to Rule 3:4-2. (First Appearance After Filing Complaint) here.
   
 The second is about best practices to use when someone needs to make an out-of-court identification. Read the NJSBA's Comments on Proposed Amendments to Rule 3:11 (Record of an out-of-court Identification Procedure) here.
