Resources for Pro Bono Attorneys

The New Jersey Bankruptcy Lawyers Foundation, a newly formed group created to raise funds from the bankruptcy bar and their associates to assist debtors and other financially distressed individuals, has established the “Discretionary Funds Program”. Through this program, attorneys representing pro bono clients IN ANY TYPE OF MATTER (not limited to bankruptcy matters) through a qualified legal services program or a law school pro bono program may apply for up to $500 in emergency funds to pay for overdue, necessary bills and invoices for items such as heating oil, medical bills, automobile repairs, etc. on behalf of their clients. Guidelines and applications are available from the homepage on NJBLF’s website-www.njblf.org.
