This comprehensive, hands-on program provides practical demonstrations and real-world examples showing how Copilot can help legal professionals work more efficiently while maintaining the quality and accuracy their clients expect.
The program includes in-depth instruction on using Copilot in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint. Participants will learn how to draft and revise documents, summarize lengthy materials, analyze contracts, manage email, prepare for and summarize meetings, organize information, create and analyze spreadsheets, generate formulas, and build polished presentations in a fraction of the time. Throughout the program, the focus remains on practical techniques that lawyers can immediately incorporate into their daily practice.
A dedicated ethics session examines the professional responsibility issues surrounding the use of Copilot AI in legal practice and how it differs from consumer versions of generative AI tools. Topics include a lawyer's duty of technological competence, protecting client confidentiality, verifying AI-generated work product, supervising the use of AI by lawyers and staff, and understanding the security, privacy, and governance features of Microsoft Copilot. Participants will also discuss practical law firm policies and workflows that promote the responsible, ethical use of AI while helping satisfy professional obligations.
