It’s Halloween, which means it’s time for our yearly refresher on state and federal death taxes.
Join us for an in-depth legal seminar tailored for attorneys, accountants, and financial advisors navigating the complex terrain of post-death taxation in the Garden State.
While the New Jersey estate tax was eliminated for deaths that took place on or after Jan. 1, 2018, many beneficiaries in the state remain subject to the inheritance tax, which is taxable to the person inheriting from the decedent. Payment of the tax depends upon the decedent’s relationship to the beneficiary, alongside a myriad of other rules and regulations. Consequently, the estates of individuals who are unmarried or do not have children can face substantial inheritance tax liabilities.
All of this can add up to large tax bills, but it is possible to mitigate these costs with the right planning. As an attorney, you must have a thorough understanding of how this tax impacts your clients, and how to draft plans for estates that may not incur federal tax, but will trigger New Jersey inheritance tax.
Join us to learn essential strategies, planning guides, and drafting tips for handling estate planning, administration, and inheritance tax in your practice. Don’t miss this opportunity to stay ahead of legislative shifts and deliver critical strategic value to your clients. Register today to secure your webcast link.
