In this seminar, you will learn how to use simple but powerful writing skills for presenting the facts and applicable law to opposing counsel, a mediator, an arbitrator, or a court. Our presenters will provide instruction on the important legal writing techniques that will make your writing clear, forceful and ultimately persuasive.
You will hear useful techniques that include how to start strong, craft direct and forceful sentences, maximize the value of point headings and quotations, find the proper balance between emphasis and exaggeration and generate valuable returns from your conclusion. Finally, you will hear about grammar checking tools, wordiness eliminators and evolving generative AI tools that may help with a first draft.
The program is not only for newer lawyers looking to master brief writing, but also for experienced lawyers seeking a refresher seminar to hone their craft.
