- In this powerful program, human trafficking survivors will talk first-hand about their experiences
- Lawyers will speak to the impact of events like the FIFA World Cup and the role of the hospitality industry and what the lawyers can do to combat trafficking.
Human trafficking is a rapidly-growing criminal industry involving modern-day slavery and it is taking place every day in New Jersey. Due to New Jersey’s dense population and prominent location along the Interstate 95 corridor, our State is considered particularly vulnerable to the proliferation of human trafficking.
This crime impacts individuals of all genders, ages and backgrounds, placing them into exploitative conditions through psychological manipulation, deceitful recruitment, retention of personal documents, isolation and more.
Lawyers are often the first to receive a call from a victim, but the victims themselves may not know that they are being trafficked. They may be calling about a dispute over wages, for assistance with immigration status or because they have just been arrested for a crime. Lawyers of all practice areas must know the signs and what to look for in order to truly and effectively help their clients.
Join us for an unforgettable program that is a CLE seminar and a call to action. Take part in this conversation to deepen your expertise on the intersection of major international events like the 2026 FIFA World Cup and human trafficking.
