Family mediation has helped many couples reach a settlement without litigating, sparing them the cost of a trial and giving them a say in how their lives are structured post-divorce. High-conflict cases can be challenging to settle, much less mediate. Is mediation possible with volatile or difficult personalities? The answer is yes, but only with skilled mediators at the helm, trained to handle difficult people.

In this year’s advanced matrimonial mediation program, you will gain an understanding of high-conflict people and difficult behaviors, learn to identify the challenges in mediating their cases and explore strategies to help high-conflict parties and attorneys reach settlement. The program will include one hour on diversity, equity and inclusion as well as a review of case management issues.
