Join us for the launch of this special three-part series, featuring an esteemed panel who will demonstrate all aspects of creating and delivering one of the most important parts of your trial. A retired Superior Court assignment judge and four experienced civil trial attorneys, both plaintiff and defense attorneys, will take you on an expedition through every stage of preparing and presenting an opening statement. Starting with the purpose and elements of an opening statement, you will receive crucial information for the start of your trial, including the application of the New Jersey Court Rules and New Jersey Evidence Rules to the opening statements. Learn when, why, on what grounds, and how an objection is properly made during an opening. Each trial attorney will present an opening statement that is created with input from the attendees, while the judicial panel member oversees the program’s opening presentations as though in the courtroom. Attendees can participate in lively feedback discussions.

Whether you are new to the profession, starting your first trial, or a seasoned attorney in need of an interactive refresher, you will leave ready to prepare for your next trial!
