2025-2026 Budget: The Board adopted a $10.9 million budget for 2025-2026 that allows the Association to provide meaningful membership experiences, top-notch CLE programming and quality legal publications. Funding in the budget will continue popular member benefits like the Member Assistance Program for mental health services. The full budget is published here.

Model Jury Charges: The Board voted to recommend that the Model Civil Jury Charges Subcommittee of the District Court of New Jersey develop model jury charges for patent cases. As part of the recommendation, the NJSBA requested an opportunity to review and comment on any draft the Committee develops before the model charges are finalized.

Family Law Section Retreat: The Board approved Puerto Rico as the destination for the 2027 Family Law Section Retreat.

The Board supported the following bills pending in the state Legislature:

A2998 AND A567 Stanley – A bill that permits the courts to order counseling for children in households with domestic violence in certain cases and establishes the presumption of award of custody to domestic violence victims in appropriate cases.

S3298 Bramnick/A3858 Speight – A measure that requires health insurers to collect data regarding health insurance claims and decisions made using automated utilization management systems.
