Event Contracts: The Board approved the contract for the 2026 Environmental Law Forum at ICONA Avalon, scheduled for June 26-30, 2026. It also endorsed the agreements for the 2027, 2028 and 2029 Annual Meetings at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City.

Section Reorganization: The Board approved Dominic DiYanni as chair of the Local Government Law Section. DiYanni – who served as second vice-chair last year – aims to revitalize the section through CLE programs, regular meetings, social and networking events and legislative engagement.

Amicus and Legislative Awards: The Board voted to recognize over a dozen volunteers for their contributions to amicus briefs and for advancing the NJSBA’s legislative positions on bills affecting the practice of law. Presidential Awards were also approved for individuals who worked on other NJSBA matters before the court. All award recipients will be honored following the Board’s December meeting.

The Board supported the following legislation pending in the state Legislature:

A4721 Park – a measure that requires the Department of Treasury to update the New Jersey Disparity Study every five years.

A4984 Katz / S3862 Corrado – a bill that requires the state Department of Children and Families to expand services provided by the NJ Statewide Student Support Services program to include eating disorder services.
