Job Description:

RESPONSIBLITIES / DUTIES:
* Partner with local school boards to offer legal guidance and protection.
* Advise school boards & administrators on a range of matters including staff relations, pupil rights and obligations, IDEA and Section 504 compliance, school construction, contract procurement, state audits, and many other issues.
* Offer clients broad support in related areas such as employment and environmental law.
* Conduct training sessions.
* Attendance at school boards meetings.
* Draft board contracts and other documents.
* Representation of the board in litigation before New Jersey courts, the New Jersey Commissioner of Education, the New Jersey Public Employee Relations Commission and other administrative agencies.

QUALIFICATIONS:
* Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
* Admitted to New Jersey Bar.
* Minimum of 1-year legal practice in education law, preferred, with a thorough knowledge of New Jersey Education laws.
* Demonstrated skills in advocacy, mediation, and interviewing.
* Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent organizational skills, high attention to detail and accuracy, and the ability to work in a deadline driven practice, required.
* Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant computer software programs.
