Joel Oster, Esq.
Comedian of Law, LLC, Shawnee

The law can be scary! Have some Halloween fun with this comedic review of the U.S. Supreme Court, legal ethics and headline cases.

Starting with a “Deal or No Deal – Ethics on Trial” segment, Oster will review the crazy predicaments some ethically challenged attorneys have found themselves in. He will examine the ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct and the New Jersey RPC’s to see how they were applied in various cases. Would you take a deal for that violation?

Next, while Hollywood might not be setting the finest example for morals and ethics, they do a good job of depicting legal ethics on the big screen. Oster will explore ethics in the movies and analyze the difference between professionalism and ethics, encouraging attorneys to view their career as a professional calling.

From Hollywood, it’s not a long journey to our legal rock stars – the nine justices of the U.S. Supreme Court, aka the Real League of Justice. The justices have been busy exerting their superhero legal powers, but are they using them for good or evil? We will review recent landmark cases that could affect your practice and end with a countdown of the Top 10 Wacky Cases of 2024. You might be surprised what you will learn about legal strategy from these headline cases.

This program is guaranteed to be a “Thriller!”
