Providing reasonable accommodations in the workplace is not only a federal and state legal requirement, but also a critical aspect of supporting the health and well-being of employees and their families. Employers who proactively offer these accommodations foster a more inclusive and equitable work environment as well as contribute to the overall productivity of their workforce. Recognizing the importance of these protections, New Jersey continues to lead the way in workplace protections for pregnant and lactating employees.
This one-hour Lunch and Learn will unpack the state’s evolving reasonable accommodation requirements under the Law Against Discrimination (LAD) and the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA), with a focus on the September 2025 OAG probable cause finding against Starbucks for failure to provide adequate lactation accommodations. Learn how to effectively navigate the interactive accommodation process, avoid common pitfalls, and design compliant workplace policies.
Join us to gain actionable insights to advise clients on minimizing risk and promoting inclusive workplaces under New Jersey’s robust anti-discrimination framework.
