Electronic discovery, commonly known as “e-discovery”, plays an increasingly large role in discovery. The days of sifting though volumes of disorganized files are a thing of the past. Today’s document discovery is often done online or by searching computers, servers, cell phones, voicemail systems, web pages and archival backup tapes. No matter you practice area, you will likely be involved in searching for and using discovery obtained in an electronic fashion.

This program will review the court rules as they pertain to e-discovery. You will gain invaluable information for developing your own e-discovery strategy as the panel leads you down the road to becoming more efficient and more effective at managing, discovering, producing and deciphering electronic evidence.

The panel will address everything you need to know about e-discovery, including…

  • Understanding e-discovery- creating, storing & retrieving electronic information
  • Legislative and case law review that governs e-discovery
  • Dealing with electronic data requests
  • Special situations you need to know about
  • A view from the bench
  • What lies ahead for e-discovery
  • The e-discovery expert - how to identify and work with outside consultants who can help you through the quagmire
  • Sample forms - subpoena, motion to compel, motion for protective order, spoliation, sanction, preservation and spoliation letters and more.
  • Use of AI in e-discovery
