is a Partner in Rem Weis Katcher Duarte, Attorneys at Law, in Hackensack, New Jersey, where she concentrates her practice in criminal defense litigation, including minor criminal matters, DWI and motor vehicle offenses.

Ms. Katcher is a former Assistant Prosecutor with the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the City of Newark. In the latter position she assisted in organizing and supporting the City’s Quality of Life Program as well as working with the Port Authority Police to prosecute illegal limousine activity at Newark Airport. She has served as an adjunct professor for the Criminal Justice Departments at Kean University, the County College of Morris and the College of St. Elizabeth, and has been a Senior Instructor for Garden State CLE since 2012.

Ms. Katcher received her B.S. from Miami University and her J.D. from New York Law School. She interned at the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office.

Mental Health Defenses and Mental Health Diversion in the Municipal Courts

This program will educate new and experienced practitioners as to mental health defenses arising from mental health and neurological conditions as to criminal charges and DWI offenses in the municipal courts and mental health diversion expanding into the municipal court.

The CLE presentation will be followed by a brief business meeting.
