This brand-new seminar will cover everything you need to know about non-binding arbitration in the Civil Part. You’ll hear from experienced arbitrators about the dos and don’ts of arbitration. Topics range from the applicable Court Rules to how to get your arbitration award confirmed.  

The program will cover: 
  • The Court rules applicable to arbitration;
  • Types of Cases subject to mandatory, non-binding arbitration;
  • Receipt of Court notices;
  • Preparation of uniform arbitration statement of facts and uniform commercial arbitration memo (exhibits, what to include and what not to include, length of statements, etc.);
  • Adjournment requests and removing a case from arbitration;
  • Notice to court and Arbitration Administrator of settlement prior to arbitration date;
  • Conduct at arbitration (arbitrator's perspective, what to say and what not to say);
  • Presentation of witnesses
  • Receipt of award and diary;
  • Trial de dovo; and
  • Motions to confirm arbitration award.
