Navigating Neurodiversity at Work: Guidance for Attorneys Representing Employees and Employers

This esteemed panel will provide attendees with essential insights into navigating the unique challenges of representing neurodiverse clients, along with guidance for employers on best practices and special considerations in employment decisions affecting neurodiverse workers. The panelists will define and discuss the types of neurodiversity before examining an array of topics regarding neurodiversity in the workplace. 

Whether you represent employers or employees, this seminar will provide the tools you need to advise your clients on neurodiversity in the workplace and the practical and ethical considerations to keep in mind when representing neurodiverse clients or their employers in litigation.

Topics include:

  • An explanation of neurodiversity and the types of employees who fit under this umbrella term
  • Information that employers need to know when hiring neurodiverse employees, including the laws regarding compensation
  • Effective employee training on neurodiversity
  • Navigating employer confidentiality and neurodiversity
  • Navigating discrimination claims and accommodation requests, including the latest case law
  • Ethical considerations in representing neurodiverse clients
  • Confronting potential barriers that neurodiverse clients face in litigation
