(Very) Advanced Microsoft Word for Legal Professionals

This program goes deep on the ways Microsoft Word can work for you. 

As unbelievable as this might sound, most legal users of Microsoft Word have never worked with a document that was set up correctly from a Word architectural perspective.  That’s because using Word reveals almost nothing about what you need to know to control the complex formatting typically required in legal instruments.  As such, Word is largely used like a typewriter (manually and inefficiently).  In this class, you’ll learn how to take full advantage of Word’s power features. Once you work with a document which is properly constructed, you’ll never want to work with one again that isn’t. More importantly, you’ll have the skills to repair and resurrect any document, no matter how bad the starting point.

• Master multi-level auto paragraph numbering and Word’s ‘styles’
• Set up legal instruments in Word the right way - whether you’re creating a new document or editing an existing one because if a document is set up correctly, it always responds to editing the way you want it to, the formatting remains perfect, and you never have to figure out why your formatting went sideways because it never went sideways in the first place.  
• How to set up any kind of multi-level automatic paragraph numbering scheme which works every. single. time. - even with compound numbering (1.1, 1.2, 1.3, etc.).

This class is for lawyers, paralegals and legal assistants. It doesn’t matter how much you feel you know about Word now.  You will learn new things in this class the entire time.

This class and the corresponding materials will be for Word for Windows 365. Mac users can usually follow along, but Word for Mac is cosmetically different than Word for Windows, so many of the features we’ll discuss are accessed differently in Word for Mac than in Word for Windows.
