Sean Carter, Esq.
Humorist At Law, Mesa

By now, you are likely familiar with the concept of implicit bias and how it impacts both individuals and organizations in decision making. However, knowledge of the problem is just the first step. In order to truly "walk the diversity talk," we must take definitive strides in the direction of diversity, equity and inclusion.

Join Sean Carter, humorist at law, for this serious look at eliminating bias. In this groundbreaking program, lawyers will learn how to translate their insights about implicit bias into actionable steps to reduce bias in their own decision-making and in the organizations they lead. In this eye-opening presentation, Carter will use videos to show lawyers just how easy it is to form these biases, how they manifest themselves in the way we treat clients, colleagues and opposing parties, and most importantly, how we can reduce the effect of these biases by recognizing and compensating for them.

By examining case studies and the best practices of leading organizations in the legal industry and beyond, lawyers will learn how to:
  • Identify and reduce their own biases
  • Develop greater culture competency
  • Navigate and resolve microaggressions
  • Recognize structural impediments to diversity
  • Drive organizational change
