Get on board the friendship train!
Music brings people together. It fosters emotional connections, creates shared experiences, and promotes a sense of unity. It transcends language barriers, allowing people from diverse backgrounds to connect through the universal language of sound. This shared experience can lead to stronger social bonds whether through attending concerts, singing together, serving as a rallying cry during a march or simply enjoying music with others.
Join Stuart Teicher, the CLE Performer, as he uses music and songwriters to illustrate important lessons of attorney ethics and diversity in the practice of law.
Hour 1: The Perfect Pop Song and Attorney Ethics
There are three songs that the internet says are the perfect pop songs. In this first hour, Teicher will reveal those songs and explain how creating a perfect pop song is related to attorney ethics. He will explore issues of competence (Rule 1.1), candor (Rule 2.1), and clarity in communication (Rule 1.4) in way that will have you humming along to ethics regulations.
Hour 2: Harmony in Justice: Using Classic R&B to Address Bias and Diversity
Discover how the powerful messages of R&B music can help lawyers confront implicit and explicit bias and disparities within the legal profession. Learn what "Dancing in the Street" teaches about inclusion, what "My Girl" teaches about belonging, and more.
Join Teicher on Aug. 28. “It doesn’t matter what you wear, just as long as you are there!”
