NEW BRUNSWICK – The New Jersey State Bar Association welcomed newly admitted attorneys for a swearing-in ceremony last week. A slate of prominent jurists—including State Supreme Court Justice Anne M. Patterson, U.S. District Court Chief Judge Freda L. Wolfson and U.S. District Court Judge and former NJSBA President Evelyn Padin—were on hand to congratulate the new attorneys and share words of wisdom, along with NJSBA President Jeralyn L. Lawrence and other bar leaders.
It is my honor to welcome you into New Jersey’s legal community,” said Judge Padin, who gave a keynote address. “As lawyers, you will learn to reach deep within yourselves to be the best that you can be and to help those in need.”
Justice Patterson acknowledged the crucial role families play to guide law students through school.
“We thank the family and the friends who are here today in support of our new colleagues, who will enrich our profession for decades to come,” she said.
Chief Judge Wolfson remarked that: “As a lawyer or judge, trying to find the answers and honor the rule of law, while not forgetting who you serve and maintaining the highest ethical standards, are not always easy tasks. But they lead to fulfillment.”
