Learn how to effectively develop, present, challenge, and evaluate emotional distress damage claims in personal injury cases. Join us for this fascinating program that combines a cognitive framework and legal perspective of emotional distress damage claims. Dr. Musolino, a Professor of Psychology and Cognitive Science, will present a cognitive framework that encompasses three areas of emotional distress: 1. Emotional Distress from an injury; 2. Stand-alone Negligent infliction of emotional distress and/or Infliction of Emotional distress; and 3. Loss of enjoyment of life/loss of consortium. The program provides information about how these principles intersect with court rules, evidentiary issues, and the practical realities of presenting emotional distress to a jury. Together, the cognitive science framework and legal perspective provide attorneys with a practical roadmap for understanding, evaluating, arguing, and defending emotional distress claims in personal injury litigation.
