The awful events at Cornell University serve as a stark reminder of the urgent work needed to build a safer, more accountable culture.

Sexual assault and harassment have both been in the news again. We think and hope we have evolved past it in 2026 and yet, it persists.

It is incumbent upon workplaces and schools, and the lawyers who represent them, to pay better attention to and more effectively address the prevalence and severity of sexual harassment. No industry has been immune to increased scrutiny regarding these issues; to the contrary, there is a heightened level of concern in all workplaces, including law firms.

A key objective of this interactive, facilitated workshop is to help lawyers help the businesses they represent build a healthy culture. We explore the legal and practical challenges that all employers need to understand and overcome in addressing sexual misconduct in the workplace. Using clips from North Country, a film about the landmark case that helped to change sexual harassment law, participants will have a unique opportunity to explore through meaningful discussions the challenges in navigating this politically and personally charged area. The presenters will help participants develop practical, sustainable strategies for preventing sexually-related misbehavior in the workplace from happening, let alone ripening into an actionable sexual harassment claim, without completely regulating or controlling employees’ lives to an unhealthy degree.

The presenters will also set forth some steps to take if a sexual harassment claim if does arise.

Don’t miss this timely and important program.
