NEW BRUNSWICK – The New Jersey State Bar Association sent all 14 members of NJ's federal delegation letters expressing concerns about the proposed tax plan under consideration, raising issues concerning alimony and the treatment of professional service providers.
The letter addressed specifically, a provision in the federal tax proposal that unfairly excludes professional service providers, such as lawyers, from eligibility for reduced tax rates; and additional concerns that the proposal will eliminate a beneficial tax deduction for divorcing spouses.
