NEW BRUNSWICK – In a letter to Gov. Chris Christie, NJSBA President Robert B. Hille urged the Governor to preserve Legal Services funding in the FY2018 budget for the protection of thousands of low-income New Jersey residents who rely on this valuable resource. Cuts to Legal Services of New Jersey would result in LSNJ having to turn away thousands of New Jersey's most vulnerable citizens. Read the letter here.
In April, Immediate Past President Thomas H. Prol testified before the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee to oppose proposals to cut LSNJ funding. Read more.
In addition, in letters to the New Jersey Congressional delegation, the association added its voice to the growing chorus of groups expressing outrage over proposals to cut funding altogether from the federal budget for Legal Services Corporation. Read more.
