A personal injury suit brought on behalf of a minor or incompetent is a very specialized type of case that will require a “friendly hearing”. This special miscellaneous proceeding is held before a Civil Division Judge who will hold a hearing and enter an order with respect to any monetary award on behalf of a minor or incompetent.

At this brand new program, a certified civil trial attorney, joined by the Passaic County Surrogate will deliver an A-Z presentation that will equip you to handle your next Friendly Hearing.

This virtual conference is conveniently scheduled during lunch, and will discuss:

  • What types of PI cases are filed on behalf of children and incompetents?

  • What is a friendly hearing?

  • Statute of limitations concerns

  • What happens to money a child/incompetent receives in a lawsuit?

  • Friendly hearing rules and procedures

  • Things to be aware of

  • Tips for a smooth “Friendly”
