This is a replay of Pay to Play and Voting Rights in 2026 - The Latest in Election Law, which originally took place on June 9, 2026.
Do you or your clients contribute to political campaigns? Do you represent entities seeking government contracts?
New Jersey has complex pay-to-play laws. Non-compliance can result in the loss of government contracts and the inability to participate in redevelopment projects, as well as substantial fines and criminal sanctions.
This program is highly beneficial for attorneys who represent entities seeking government contracts at the state, county, or municipal level, or law firms and entities that contribute to political campaigns. Watch this replay to understand the critical developments in campaign finance rules and protect your clients from potential violations.
In addition, this annual program featured a timely discussion on the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Louisiana v. Callais, including its impact on legislative redistricting, and the state of voting rights nationally and in New Jersey.
Topics covered include:
- Pay-to-play rules under the Elections Transparency Act
- Visits by congressional candidates to businesses
- Election year activities of Section 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) organizations
- Houses of worship after the dismissal of National Religious Broadcasters v. Bessent
- Ethics related to campaign finance, politics, and brief writing
- Permissible activities of PACs, Super PACs, and 527s
- Impact of the Supreme Court’s decision in Louisiana v. Callais on voting rights
