Breathe, laugh and learn improv during NJSBA Well-Being Week in Law
The New Jersey State Bar Association (NJSBA) recognizes the unique challenge lawyers face and wants to help the profession emerge from the pandemic with the tools to be more resilient and productive.
To that end, the NJSBA Lawyer Well-Being Committee and New Jersey Lawyers Assistance Program (NJLAP) will present Well-Being Week in Law, May 3-7, as part of a national project that seeks to honor and recognize the vital importance of well-being in the legal community.
Each day, the NJSBA and NJLAP will share information, videos, articles and seminars to help foster overall health in all aspects of life. The goal is to provide a week’s worth of resources and education that members of the profession can tap into throughout the year to bolster their well-being.
Monday is all about staying physically strong, Tuesday looks at spiritual well-being, Wednesday addresses how to engage and grow your career, Thursday looks at social well-being, and Friday focuses on emotional health.
Several free virtual programs will be offered:
• Wednesday: “Becoming Your Own Best Advocate: Addressing Attorney Burnout in the Age of COVID,” led by Lauren Baptiste, chief empowerment officer with Acheloa Wellness
• Thursday: “‘Lawyering’ in the Moment: Stress Management and Mindfulness for Lawyers,” with Cheyne R. Scott, a partner with Chasan Lamparello Mallon & Cappuzzo
• Friday: “Laughter and Improv Well-Being Break,” with New Jersey lawyer and comedian Joey Novick
