NEW BRUNSWICK – Two dozen New Jersey State Bar Association members gave back at a program in Passaic on Oct. 26.The event in Passaic County was part of the Immigration and Citizenship Organization’s Immigrants Integration Day and was held at Passaic City Hall. The volunteers took part in a morning workshop about pathways to the profession with high school students. And others gave free legal consultations for hours in the afternoon to residents of Passaic. The New Jersey State Bar Association is launching Law Days throughout New Jersey as an initiative of NJSBA President Evelyn Padin in partnership with affinity and county bar associations, the Judiciary and legal services organizations. The NJSBA is looking for attorneys who are willing to volunteer for these events to provide assistance in the following areas of law: Immigration, Guardianship for Children, Landlord-Tenant, Divorce, Domestic Violence Restraining Orders, Criminal Law/Expungements and Criminal Law/Victim’s Rights. For those of you who are not bilingual, we will have interpreters available, so please do not hesitate to volunteer.
