Officers sworn in:
A new slate of officers will be installed tomorrow to lead the association’s executive committee. Robert B. Hille will become president of the New Jersey State Bar Association, the state’s largest organization of lawyers, judges and legal professionals.
Hille is a Berkeley Heights resident and a partner with the Morristown law firm McElroy, Deutsch, Mulvaney & Carpenter where he practices insurance and healthcare law. In the year ahead, Hille said he plans to focus the energies of the association on advancing legislation that will put professionals on an even playing field; boosting the efforts of solo and small-firm attorneys who not only form the backbone of the profession but also make critical contributions to the state’s economy; and fortifying the organization’s efforts on behalf of veterans and a diversionary court to address their specific needs.
In addition to Hille’s installation, the other members of the executive committee will move up the succession ladder. John E. Keefe Jr. becomes president-elect; Evelyn Padin becomes first vice president; Kimberly A. Yonta becomes second vice president; Domenick Carmagnola becomes treasurer; and Jeralyn L. Lawrence becomes secretary. Thomas H. Prol becomes immediate past president.
Coming Friday:
Chief Justice Stuart Rabner and U.S. District Court of New Jersey Chief Judge Jerome Simandle will deliver State-of-the-Judiciary speeches at 9 a.m.
