Atlantic City –The New Jersey State Bar Association’s
Annual Meeting and Convention kicks off tomorrow in Atlantic City. With over
2,700 lawyers and judges in attendance, the event is the premiere gathering of
the state’s legal community. It begins May 17 and continues through Friday at
the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa.
Tomorrow's programming will touch on some of the hottest
issues today, including:
Inside Trenton;
Post-Sandy Resiliency Projects in NJ;
My Kid’s Not Playing Football – Legal Issues Surrounding
Concussions in Sports;
Becoming Mindful to Improve Lawyering and Life; and
Cannabis Law in the Age of Trump

Coming Thursday:
Rutgers University Women’s Basketball Head Coach C.
Vivian Stringer will be the keynote speaker of the annual Diversity Luncheon.
The Supreme Court Year in Review, a speech by Attorney
General Christopher Porrino, and a look at the role of journalism in 2017 will
be among the featured programs.
A new slate of officers will also be installed to lead
the association’s executive committee. Robert B. Hille, of McElroy, Deutsch,
Mulvaney & Carpenter, will become president of the association. New Jersey
Chief Justice Stuart Rabner will administer the oath of office. The event
begins at 7 p.m.
Coming Friday:
Chief Justice Stuart Rabner and U.S. District Court of
New Jersey Chief Judge Jerome B. Simandle will deliver State-of-the-Judiciary
speeches at 9 a.m. The morning will include a panel discussion titled
“Protecting Vulnerable Communities: Lessons and Best Practices from Europe and
the United States.”
