This is an unprecedented time for attorneys. From the rapid development of AI to the ever-present threat posed by AI, it’s essential that every attorney stay on top of the latest developments.

No Tech Jargon – Get Caught Up In One Morning (In Plain English)
Don’t miss this unique opportunity – in Manhattan – to pick up the latest in both AI and Cybersecurity. As an attendee, you’ll gain a working knowledge of everything you need to know and will have the opportunity to ask questions to a recognized expert in the field.

First, Get Up To Speed on ChatGPT and AI
Artificial intelligence (AI) has arrived. For some it is an exciting new way to use technology, but others are deeply ambivalent. No matter how you feel, one thing is clear: you need to learn how this new technology will impact the practice of law. For example, the emerging technology of ChatGPT, a powerful AI language model, has the potential to transform legal practice through its ability to provide general legal advice as well as legal research, contract drafting, and document review. While there is potential for AI to improve efficiency and access to justice, there are also dangers and ethical pitfalls that lawyers need to understand.

Next, pick up the latest on Cybersecurity
There is no doubt that the threat of a cybersecurity attack on both solo/small and large law firms is at an all-time high. On top of that, ABA Formal Opinion 483 starts with the following observation: “…the data security threat is so high that law enforcement officials regularly divide law firms and business entities into two categories: “those that have been hacked and those that will be.” Given the environment we live it, it’s no wonder most attorneys wonder “Am I being responsible and am I safe?” when it comes to cybersecurity and data privacy.

Looking for a way to stay ahead of the curve, spot and avoid the most common data privacy and cybersecurity issues, and protect your law firm? You don’t need to be a technology genius - or even a tech-savvy person - to stay safe. In fact, generally speaking, the best protection comes from using some simple, time-proven strategies that anyone can apply. Join Dr. Robert Spangler, Assistant Executive Director and CISO at the NJSBA for some straightforward, simple procedures and information that will protect you from most breaches.
