Join us for a dynamic and informative seminar designed for legal professionals looking to stay ahead in the fast-evolving field of criminal law. 2024 has been an eventful year! From the Mental Health Diversion Courts to the latest on expungements, from the “state law version” of Daubert to cybercrime, it can be difficult to keep up.

A panel of seasoned criminal law attorneys led by Brandon Minde, who has been certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Certified Trial Attorney, will share insights and updates on the very latest you need to know in order to provide the best possible representation for your clients.

Topics to be discussed include:

  • Daubert, Olenowski and Your Expert – How the new approach to admissibility of experts will affect your cases.
  • Mental Health Diversion Courts – How these new courts work, what qualifies a defendant for entry and how they can help certain defendants avoid incarceration and recidivism.
  • Expungements – On May 9, the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General, the New Jersey Office of the Public Defender, and the New Jersey State Police announced that an Interim Consent Order has been entered in State Superior Court aimed at creating a more efficient solution to how the NJ State Police processes outstanding judicial expungement orders. As a result of continued collaborative efforts, the parties have identified and agreed upon various categories of expungement orders that will be promptly processed to further reduce the existing backlog of expungement orders and allow New Jerseyans to obtain gainful employment, find suitable housing and reintegrate into society. Hear more about how your clients will be affected by this consent order and the latest on the status of the litigation.
  • Cybercrime – Cyber criminals seem to create new schemes daily. Hear the latest information that will benefit both prosecutors and defense attorneys.
  • More to come!
